Ad Wars: Round 1

Everyone knows that John McCain will likely benefit from a protracted Democratic battle, but never was that more apparent than now -- as he begins airing his first general election TV ad in the important swing state of New Mexico. I might also add that the 60 second spot is creatively titled after his navy serial number, 624787 -- a number which America will know by heart by the convention if Republican strategists successfully continue to establish McCain's life story for the American public -- virtually unopposed...

The Democrats forfeit round 1 as they carry on through Pennsylvania -- the voters of which feel they've been given a pass...

Question for you Will. What is your opinion on a battle tested (campaign trail that is) Democratic candidate vs McCain? Everyone believes that this continuing battle between HRC and Obama is weakening the eventual candidate. While this might be the case, I would prefer to think it would actually give the candidate more experience in combating an opposition. With McCain having very little competition in his Republican presumptive nomination (minus the initial little spat with Romney and the 2000 race) I think the democratic candidate might be all to ready to come out swinging.

I would love to believe that the national race will only be a pillow fight with no real teeth, I don't think it will be.
