From the timeline-warping tricks of "Memento" to the bleary-eyed morning-after of this week's "The Hangover," memory loss remains a treasured (and sometimes abused) movie gimmick. I think a good one in the "bump on the head" category is "The Lookout" with Joseph Gordon Levit and Jeff Daniels...and it really doesn't fall into any of the cliches. The main character can't do any of the great things he did before the accident ...great film, check it out
No mention of Desperately Seeking Susan? Perfect example of the 'bump on the head' category. Rosanna Arquette falls, hits her head, then starts to believe that she's the Madonna character, Susan, who she's been following.
I was going to comment, but I forgot what I was going to say.
Memento owns. Unbelievably awesome movie.
