The 2009 Spirit Award Nominations

Jason Bateman and Sandra Oh braved the early call time this morning in Los Angeles to announce this year's nominees for the Spirit Awards. The awards will take place on February 21st, and will be broadcast live and uncut on IFC at 5pm ET/2pm PT. Here are the nominees:

It is the most independent in that it finally tells some of the truth about the most amazing story of the 20th century (the Cuban Revolution), has two of the most iconoclastic actors and directors of our generation, was shot in Spanish, and it has been fucking ignored by the corporate, capitalist-swine, Yankee media...
