Disagree with many of your thoughts on Jim Carrey. Lemony Snicket's was fun and refreshing because it didn't take itself as seriously as others in that genre (like Harry Potter) and The Majestic was superb. The visible layer of that film is just like a Frank Capra shmaltzie film, but in the same way that many of Capra's films have an underlying sense of dread, so does The Majestic. It's not as clear-cut a movie as it would lead you to believe and the ending is not the happy ending you think it is.
Why isn't Eddie Murphy on your list? Although, I've heard that now that his kids have grown up quite a bit, he's going to start getting back to his 'blue-humor' roots.
