Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who directed this week's sequel to Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later," screened his last film, 2001's Spanish language "Intacto," to Cannes and Sundance. Nimród Antal, the director of the fading-from-theaters slasher flick "Vacancy," won acclaim and a prize at Cannes along with a European Film Award nomination for his Hungarian debut, "Kontroll." No matter how good you are in your home country, when you first start working in the US it seems you're only likely to be offered genre films and US remakes of foreign languages titles. This week on the IFC News podcast, we look at how some of the more recent foreign directors to make a splash have done with their English language debuts.
