SUPER TUESDAY: New Album Releases (May 6)
Tuesday, May 6, 2008 | 9:06 AM

The Last Shadow Puppets, The Age of the Understatement
Alas, Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner unveils his much talked about side-project.
Tim Fite, Fair Ain't Fair
Less hip-hop on this one, and more twangy Tm Fite ballads.
No Age, Nouns
Noisy, art-punk duo that may have the most deluxe-packaged release of the week. If you download this one, you're missing out.
Elvis Costello and The Imposter, Momofuku
Surprisingly good. (Not that I doubt Mr. Costello, but it's "surprising" in that Elvis Costello never ever seems to go out of style. I hope to be like him when I'm his age.)
Everest, Ghost Notes
Nice, laid-back indie-rock offering.
The Morning Benders, Talking Through Tin Cans
Beatles-esque rock--well played my friends!
Matmos, Supreme Balloon
Quirky electronic album that almost sounds like some of the songs were created by a "supreme balloon."
Barenaked Ladies, Snacktime
It makes perfectly good sense that the Barenaked Ladies put out a children's album, but something still bothers me about having a children's album created by a group called Barenaked Ladies.
The Birthday Massacre, Looking Glass
Goth-looking band that make big-sounding, synthy 80's rock ballads.
Neil Diamond, Home Before Dark
Neil Diamond baby! When you posses a catalog of hits, lengthy album descriptions go out the window.
If I missed anything good, please let me know. Also, Lykke Li and Animal Collective respectively released EPs today.

I haven't even heard of the Last Shadow Puppets, and the new Tim Fite album is great.
