So what do you think of this one? You've probably heard by now that Scarlett Johansson is releasing an album tomorrow (May 20). The Dave Sitek-produced Anywhere I Lay My Head features Johannson singing 10 Tom Waits cover songs with one original. David Bowie also lends a helping hand in the proceedings.
The jury inside my head is still undecided on this one. Is this just what indie-minded music needs? Or the complete opposite?
(Or neither?)
I know our society doesn't look kindly on actors turned singers and vice-versa, but the whole Tom Waits thing with Dave Sitek and David Bowie on board, has got me interested.
Here's the first video from the album, a cover of Tom Waits' "Falling Down."

As far as I'm concerned only Tom Waits can do Tom Waits...except maybe the Ramones. Then again I didn't exactly hate it.
