Happy Earth Day to you,
Happy Earth Day to you,
Happy Earth Day Indie Ear Blog readers,
Happy Earth Day to you!

Because you're all my special friends, and because I'm a fan of this earth, I made you all a special Earth Day mix.

Enjoy!

"Walk It Out," Unk
That's right, if you can, "walk it out" instead of "driving it out."

"Welcome To Paradise," Green Day
In my perfect paradise, everyday would be a "green" day.

"The Update," Beastie Boys
Maybe one of the most environmentally-conscious hip-hop songs of all-time.

"Ready to Fall," Rise Against
Let's be honest, it's not really tough or sexy to make a music video about the enviroment, but Rise Against did it anyway (which also includes a mini-PSA at the end, "We've got one planet, one chance").

"Sexy Boy," Air
For this special Earth Day mix, it probably would have been more appropriate to include Air's "New Star In the Sky," But "Sexy Boy" is just a much better song. Here's to keeping the "air" clean this Earth Day.

"Trying to Find a Balance," Atmosphere
The group is called Atmosphere and their members are named Slug and Ant--plus, they released their brand new album on Earth Day. Calling these guys eco-friendly would be an understatement.

"I Nearly Lost You," The Screaming Trees
Save the rain forests and stop the trees from screaming.

"Planet Rock," Afrika Bambaataa
If we destroy this planet, we'll never obtain Bambaataa's prophecy of a "Planet Rock."

"Breathe," Fabolous
Breathe in that clean air!

"Country Roads (Take Me Home)", John Denver
You can almost smell the fresh air in this song.

"Peaches," Presidents of the United States of America
Millions of (organic) peaches, (organic) peaches for me.

"Dr. Greenthumb," Cypress Hill
These guys were always down with botany.

"Down By the Water," PJ Harvey
"Little fish, big fish, swimming in the water, come back here and give me my daughter." If we don't have clean water for future generations, we won't have fish, and this song won't make any sense.

"Island in the Sun," Weezer
If you think of it, all of the earth's continents are just "islands in the sun." This had to make the Earth Day mix--c'mon--it's off the "Green" album.

"Bicylce, Bicycle, You Are My Bicycle," Be Your Own Pet
Gas prices too high? Solution--ride your bicylcle.

"Make It Rain," Fat Joe featuring Lil' Wayne
Who knew these two emcees were so envirometnally conscious?

"Wild Thing," The Troggs
Let the "wild things" of this earth roam freely.

"Human Behavior," Bjork
Human behavior will either save or destroy our planet earth.

"Forklift," Pavement
Al Gore needs one of these for his slide show presentations (although I think he prefers the scissor-lift).
