Yesterday, Green Day, I mean Foxboro Hot Tubs released their full-length album Stop Drop and Roll!!! (Jingle Town Records). Many of the album's A-sides were previously available on the band's website, but yesterday, the complete album (A-sides and B-sides alike) were made available to purchase for $10.99. If you're only feeling one particular side of the album, you can purchase the A-side for $5.50 and the B-side for one penny less at $5.49.
What's it sound like?
It's definitely drenched with Green Day's irresistible vibe, but think vintage jukebox rock. Stop Drop and Roll!!! isn't too far of a stretch considering many of Green Day's American Idiot tracks have the same retro feel. If Foxboro Hot Tubs were around back in the early days of rock 'n roll, it seems like they'd fit perfectly on a bill with Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. In today's garage-rock world it seems like they should be sharing a burger and malt with groups like The Fratellis.
Nom de plumes (a pen name) are nothing new to Green Day. In 2003, before the release of American Idiot, Green Day, I mean, The Network released their new wave album, Money Money 2020. Billie Joe Armstrong also juggles frontman duties with the on-again off-again Bay-area punk band Pinhead Gunpowder.
Because many big-name artists have been recently giving out music for free (Radiohead, NIN), the $10.99 not-so-easy-to-download-if your-computer-settings-are-a-bit-off album makes me realize how spoiled I've been lately.

It was a paing to download, made me download all these other files. But once it got going, it only took like a minute to download the whole thing. I dig it so far.
