Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh! I've seen The Cribs many times these past few years but last night's show at The Music Hall of Williamsburg (i.e. North Six) was in a category all its own. Literally the crowd was moshing right after the first chord was played by the Jarman brothers and didn't stop 'til the lights came on. While I'm usually against said "moshing", it's a different type when it's at a Cribs show. Where it would normally be angry and dangerous, it was a mash-up of caring fans looking to dance around and have a good time with one another.

While Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever is still fresh in the ears of industry folk and fans alike, The Cribs debuted a couple of new songs for the crowd to eat up! Men's Needs... seemed to have a monopoly over the set list, which was a bit disappointing because fan favorites such as "You Were Always the One" and "I'm Alright, Me" were left out! They played just about an hour and near the end of their set, Ryan Jarman treated the audience to a crowd surf!

What really set this show apart was that LEE RANALDO of Sonic Youth was there to sing his part on "Be Safe" with The Cribs. This was the first time the song has been performed live and it was done beautifully. Granted Mr. Ronaldo had the lyrics written out for him, but to be fair, does anyone know the lyrics to that song by heart?

Also, since apparently a Cribs show is the place to be, both Kate Nash and Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand were spotted in the audience.
