I'm not going to lie to you, I'm a fan of movie trailers! Months before a film is reviewed, all we have is a two-minute trailer--cut up and pieced together by the most talented Hollywood editors--to give us hope that a film we're anticipating is going to be great. If it works for movies, why can't it work for music too?

Alex Turner, song-writing wunderkind of Arctic Monkeys, and his buddy Miles Kane of The Rascals (not the group from the '60s who brought us "Good Lovin'"), are getting ready to unleash their new side-project to the world: The Last Shadow Puppets.

Taking a page from Hollywood, the two have a released a trailer for their new project. Watch it right now:

Are you excited? I am. I told you, I'm a fan of movie trailers! There's only one thing that frightens me--I love the Arctic Monkeys and I'm hoping this project doesn't do anything to screw up their dynamic. I would say that I'm worried about Turner spreading himself thin, since he jumped into this project immediately following an Arctic Monkeys' album release and tour, but keep in mind he churned out two brilliant Arctic Monekys albums in two consecutive years (Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, Favourite Worst Nightmare.)

The Last Shadow Puppets will release The Age of The Understatement (Domino Records) on Tuesday, May 6 (the UK will get it two weeks earlier).
