Filed under: LIVEWith three music festivals to chose from this weekend--All Points West (Jersey City, NJ), Virgin Mobile (Baltimore), New American Music Union (Pittsburgh, PA)--I decided to attend the latter, just for the fact that I was heading back to Pittsburgh anyway to compete in a golf/fishing/corn-hole triathlon. I was only able to catch the first night of the New American Music Union Festival, which was the obvious appetizer course (Tiny Masters Of Today, NASA, The Black Keys, and The Roots) for the festival's second day (Bob Dylan, The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley, Spoon).... SUMMER FESTIVAL UPDATE '08: Aug. 8-10

Bob Dylan has a busy weekend (performing at both a festival curated by the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis and one taking place on a horse racing track) and Radiohead prepare to rock out for the Statue of Liberty. A Random Weekend in Pittsburgh

Since the rise and fall of the Rolling Rock Town Fair (which in retrospect was a little ahead of its time), my hometown of Pittsburgh hasn't had much to celebrate when it comes to throwing summer music festivals. This year, however, Pittsburgh snagged one. Though the specifics are a little confusing, I must say, I'm very intrigued. The New American Music Union Festival is taking place at the South Side Works (a newly renovated outdoor lifestyle plaza) in Pittsburgh, PA.
