Silver Jews Done, Berman To Screenwrite

2008 saw the death of the following indie-minded music acts: Phantom Planet, Wolfmother, Be Your Own Pet, Junior Senior, Dirty Pretty Things, Georgie James, and Dirty On Purpose. Three full weeks into 2009, and we've already suffered our first casualty. David Berman, announced through his band's message board, that Silver Jews are no more. (left: Silver Jews call it a day.) On January 31, Silver Jews plan to play their farewell show at Tennessee's Cumberland Caverns (which will be broadcast on Nashville's WSM radio).
