In preparation for next week's 20th Anniversary reissue of Paul's Boutique, The Beastie Boys have reworked the homepage of their website to include a 3 Minute Rule Ping-Ping Simulator (an ode to "3 Minute Rule," a track in which the Beasties recorded live bouncing ping-ping balls), a cowbell and record-scratch activated by your mouse finger, a section where fans are invited to upload a photo and share their favorite Paul's Boutique memories, a Got More _______, Than ________ feature--paying homage to the Beastie Boys signature rhyme scheme in Paul's Boutique ("I got more hits than Sadaharu Oh"), Beastie photos... Every first of the month in 2009, D.I.Y.-feel-good-punk-rockers, The Bouncing Souls, will be releasing a brand new digital download to celebrate their 20th Anniversay as a band. The Bouncing Souls, one of my favorite groups of all-time, will be celebrating their 20th year of existence in 2009. (left: The Pete and Greg chipping away in the studio.) For those that don't know, New Jersey's Bouncing Souls have been making catchy east coast punk anthems since 1989, and besides bringing a smile to the mosh pit, they have also kept up a steady regimen of touring and have never signed to a major label (though they've been courted several times).
