He's the author of numerous books, including "Ghosts in the Machine: Speculating on the Dark Heart of Pop Cinema" (Limelight Eds.), "Exile Cinema: Filmmakers At Work Beyond Hollywood" (SUNY Press), "Flickipedia" (A Cappella Books), the debut volume of poetry "One Hundred Children Waiting for a Train" (Word Works) and, coming in August '09 from St. Martin's Press, the first novel in a potentially deathless series, "Hemingway Deadlights."
