- Bio: Michael Atkinson has written film criticism and cultural attack for SPiN, The Guardian (UK), The Believer, In These Times, the Village Voice, The Progressive, Moving Image Source, the Boston Phoenix, Sight & Sound, Film Comment, Maxim, Details, Interview, Good, the Modern Review and many, many other publications. He's the author of numerous books, including "Ghosts in the Machine: Speculating on the Dark Heart of Pop Cinema" (Limelight Eds.), "Exile Cinema: Filmmakers At Work Beyond Hollywood" (SUNY Press), "Flickipedia" (A Cappella Books), the debut volume of poetry "One Hundred Children Waiting for a Train" (Word Works) and, coming in August '09 from St. Martin's Press, the first novel in a potentially deathless series, "Hemingway Deadlights."
