The time has come for school bus driver and professional party animal Rick (Tom Hanks) to settle down and marry his girlfriend, the announcement of which shocks his friends … and inspires them to throw the bachelor party to end all bachelor parties. Rick’s fiance Debbie (Tawny Kitaen) isn’t thrilled about the bacchanal — and her father isn’t thrilled with the engagement, period, and has in fact recruited his daughter’s ex, Cole (Robert Prescott), to break up the happy couple and win her back. Rick’s fidelity is put to the test as he’s thrown into a whirlwind of all kinds of decadent shenanigans, which are eventually countered by (and, later, merged with) Debbie’s own last-minute wild and crazy bachelorette party. It all ends with an epic chase through a 36-screen movie theater that’s hosting a 3-D marathon of such inspired titles as “Chainsaw Child,” “Bat Beast” and “Death Cult Bar-Mitsfa.” Not surprisingly, “Bachelor Party” was inspired by real-life events experienced by co-producers Ron Moler and Bob Israel; in fact, most of the cast and crew were present at the very shebang on which this film is based. – IFC Staff
