People who make up the tea parties are just ordinary Americans who are fed up with the socialist policies of the Obama administration. There is nothing radical about wanting to preserve our heritage and the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Constitution.
Carrell, name one policy of Obama's that is socialist. If you are going to say healthcare pleae remember that reform was taken under the context of an entirely for-profit system where there was no public option or single payer option.
The problem with the tea party is that there seems to be inherent racism in it. You say we need to 'preserve our heritage' and the constitution yet what Obama is doing is nothing more than what Bush was doing, why weren't the tea partiers up in arms then? Then look at what happened with the failed bombing in Times Square, you had congressman from both sides of the aisle calling for a removal of miranda rights for US citizens, directly contradicting the constitution, and we heard nothing from the teabaggers.
The tea parties are just ordinary Americans who use holocause imagery when talking healthcare, bring assault rifles to town hall meetings, who claim to be libertarian but still suckle the government teet (Rand Paul).
Brilliant! It continues to be a terrifying time to live in America, and the blame for that is not on Barrack Obama. The right-wing fox stooges and the republican party have hit a new low, even for them. Their reckless hate, disinformation and demagogery pose a far greater danger to this country than a man and a political party that are trying to improve a long-broken system. I have and will continue to support President Obama as well as condemn the right-wing for their base, transparent ploys for power for its own sake; as well as the ignorant masses who would be swayed by their venomous diatribe. Education is paramount. Smarten up you silly bastards.
If the IFC were truly independent they would run The Tea: The Documentary Film. They've ignored our earnest effort to show what moves Tea Party activists to action.
Giving equal time to unequal minds isn't always necessary, Billy boy.
Talk about talking points.
As if Glenn Beck were the "voice of the Tea Party". What a buffoon. And this false left-right hypnosis the mainstream media, and yes, "IFC Media Project" as well, continues to cram down our craniums is complete nonsense. Why is it when "liberty vs. tyranny" is mentioned by the people, it is perfunctorily swept under the rug?
Why is it that Dick Armey is credited with (accused of?) being the "string puller" of the Tea Parties, when he is nothing but an establishment paid-off neo-con shill who'd love to take that kind of credit?
Why is it that the cameras (or editing) in this "report" took pains to only show whites, as if Blacks aren't pissed off at their government, too? Do you really think all Blacks are Obama-noids?
Do you really think that a movement that was originally founded by Ron Paul and is currently attempting to be taken over by the mainstream Republican party so the establishment can have their "controlled opposition" can't be truly grass roots? The cute graph they showed with all the alleged funding and imagery was long on trendy anima-scribble, but short on facts and actual citations. Lies, damn lies and statistics, to paraphrase Mark Twain.
In fact, the entire piece was completely one-sided and did nothing but portray the true issues average Americans who decided to get up and use their First Amendment-protected rights to raise their voices against was likewise perfunctorily portrayed (both via innuendo and overtly) as "white supremacist rhetoric" and "right wing talking points".
You want some interesting actually relevant talking points? How about the fact that the current White House nominee for Supreme Court justice, who has ZERO judicial experience, is a true Marxist who has written she believes freedom of speech should be eradicated in this country? Ever heard that in the mainstream media? Ever heard that on IFC Media Project? Well, the season is still young, but don't hold your breath.
In the meantime, you would all do well to stop parroting "liberal talking points" and start coming together as Americans and fight the true enemies: the bankers and the establishment elites who would sooner see you dead as look at you.
This last point should please those whose blood reached its boiling point at my overly-long diatribe: don't believe me--look it up for yourself.
