IFC hosted a "Media Project" panel event on April 30th, 2009. The event, which featured Tina Brown (The Daily Beast Founder & Editor-in-Chief), Ari Fleischer (Former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush), Peggy Noonan (author and WSJ columnist), Katty Kay (BBC Political Reporter), and Josh Rushing (Author & Host of Fault Lines, AL Jazeera English), and moderated by Gideon Yago (host of The IFC Media Project), kicked-off the network's second season of The IFC Media Project, and pro-social campaign, "Make Media Matter," aimed at educating young adults on how to become better media consumers. The panel included a lively debate about the quality of American journalism versus international including the future of investigative journalism, the transparency of the Obama White House, and more.
