Young Gold
by Mareesa Stertz and Joshua Sankar
Riding the pretty highs and gritty lows of extended youth, Young Gold explores the stories of 20-30 somethings seeking adventure in the rich and distracting after hour subcultures of San Francisco, all set to a soundtrack of local indie acts.

Mareesa Stertz and Joshua Sankar make up the dynamic directing duo know as "The Seeing Machine." This creative force was foraged in the dark, damp classrooms of the San Francisco State Cinema program ages ago. All was fine and well with this creative team until one fateful day a freak telecini accident fused man, woman, and machine together, unleashing uncanny cinematic powers, including the ability to know ALL, do ALL, and SEE ALL. Inevitably this unstoppable force will take over transmission of all your viewing screens. So use caution, weary Internet traveler, because "The Seeing Machine," is, without a doubt, watching you while you watch it.

I liked the music...the story was lost...and I needed to care about someone...that didn't happen...
liked the late night street...wanted more of that late night street..people alone after hours...the party was not a plus...wish it was better...I was really wanting to be surprised ...but that didn't happen...
Okay...thank you...

I can't count how many nights I've woken up on some strangers floor in a room full of strangers with a condom wrapper stuck to my cheek and my clothes damp with Keystone Lite spillage ...okay maybe I can... twice, and both times we're pretty awesome.
This one sure brings back memories....
For someone such as myself who has lived in San Francisco, this trailer symbolizes the J.O. behavior that takes place in the small hours. Late in the night, I have seen people on the swings, I've witnessed them rolling down wet lawns, and I've been there when the early morning regret hits the scene...
Not bad. Not bad at all. Seems like these guys hit SF on the head.
I want to see more
Looks wonderful, great editing!
Ah, seems so familiar...feels like I've been there before. Good work my friends!
I feel like i just lived this!
Who is that sexy guy with the mustache? he is sexy.
what's next? where's this go? I want to know more! I dig how everything is constantly moving forward- and it seems like the kids aren't going anywhere... (feels familiar!)
Really captures the mayhem of life in SF. Great night photography. I want to see more!
this blew my mind.
Great! Would like to see an "older gentleman" in future webisodes though!
so i did some research into the fella with the mustache.
David W something, he is pretty amazing huh? shows his strong acting skills, you would almost think he was really drunk, or really made out with that girl.
STELLAR.
and i must say this movie is by far the best, as an unbiased commenter on a web site i just found by accident, i must say that i am really surprised by the work that Marissa and josh put out. It must have been very hard.
i do wish they credited their effects guy more, turns out that all of the park footage is green screen!? that is what i read anyway.
I think the most astounding feature of this film is that the whole cast is dead. zombies or something! sure some people can make movies about zombies, but to actually EMPLOY them!? such vision.
Not my cup of tea, but fairly well done. Struck me as slightly self centered / indulgent, but then I'm not a 20-something living in SF.
It's relatable for anyone who's been to college in the past 15 years and the music is great, but it lacks a plot and the main female should stop trying so hard to act and just live in the scene.
I kept waiting for Grace Slick to show up. Nice camera work. Steady cam or just a steady hand? Good capturing of a party. Unfortunately the party was boring. In SF, no less. That seems hard to find. As the lead female said, "Whatever".
It feels very organic almost like a documentary but not boring, makes me want to more to the city. Is this a true story? I like how the meandering matches the girls discontent. I want to know more about her! When is the next one coming out?
Looks fabulous! Good job guys. I'd love to see more, what's next?
Intriguing... GIVE ME MORE FROM "THE SEEING MACHINE"
This is great, so fun, I want to see more!
this film looks super cool, i wish it was longer! the music is great and the party shots are awesome, i love the set design! can't wait to see a longer version!
it would be fun to see some funky camera angles in the party and a little dark humor here and there. I think with a few more characters i can see this being a fun web series.
this flick makes me want to stay up late and wander around for a while. Although to be honest my life is a bit less exciting. But its fun to live through others. I want to see more.
um...why? honestly...it's well shot and has fabulous music but where's the story? I don't see how this could develop further or why i would even want it to...I've lived this night a hundred times on both coasts so i have trouble finding it film-worthy...a little self-indulgent but good technical aspects...just my humble opinion
I'm not a 20 or 30-something person living in wonderful SF, but this gives me a taste of what that is. Although there is room for improvement, this short demo is nicely done. I'd keep my eye on these two up and coming young guns.
The amazin' music featured within is from one of my favorite bands -- BABY CAKES! Check them out, you will not regret it.
liked the way this was shot, the party scene was fantastic.
