Sketchtember is IFC’s celebration of the indie-pioneers of comedy and the masters of the art of sketch. For six Saturdays in a row, starting September 5th at Midnight, IFC will be running a four hour marathon of our greatest sketch comedy with episodes of “The Whitest Kids U’ Know”, “The Jon Dore Show”, “Modern Toss” and “Wrong Door”. It all builds up to the premiere of the six part documentary on the founding fathers of sketch comedy, “Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)” airing on IFC starting Sunday, Oct.18th through Friday Oct. 23rd @ 9pm ET/PT.

We’re inviting the sketch comedy troupes of America to join our celebration by creating a video of their funniest sketch and entering it in the IFC Media Lab Studios Sketch Comedy Challenge. The winning sketch will be broadcast on IFC with the troupe receiving a trip for two to New York to attend the premiere of the Monty Python documentary walk the same red carpet as the Pythons!

Contestants are invited to upload a video of their troupe’s funniest sketch starting September 1st.

The deadline for entries is midnight, September 20th.

Grand Prize:

• The winning sketch will receive two tickets to New York for the US premiere of IFC’s “Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)” along with airfare and hotel (you’ll have to provide your own coconuts).
• The winning sketch will air on IFC and be shown on IFC.com.

Runners-Up:

• Four runners-up will each win "The Complete Monty Python's Flying Circus" 16-disc DVD boxed set
• The four runner-up sketches will be shown on IFC.com.
