The Rural Alberta Advantage Takes Over IFC At SXSW

A little bit of Canada in Austin
The Rural Alberta Advantage, a three-piece indie rock band based out of Toronto, stopped by the IFC Crossroads House during SXSW 2011. The group joined us for a set of their sparse and almost chillingly beautiful songs from their album “Departing.”
Band members Nils Edenloff, Amy Cole, and Paul Banwatt chatted with IFC’s SXSW music host, Ted Leo, about the industry, their sound, and the wilds of Canada:
After their interview, the band headed to the main stage at the Crossroads House and brought a little bit of the lonesome Canadian wilds into the middle of Austin, Texas:
