Daft Punk’s Score for “TRON: Legacy”

Take a listen to six tracks from Daft Punk's score for "Tron: Legacy."
The original “TRON” had a completely mind blowing score by synth pioneer Wendy Carlos. When the first AI wakes and claims “I am,” when the Master Control Program really does come online, and the machines rise, I’m confident it will be to the pulses of Carlos’ Moogs. They might skip the few contributions that Journey made to the 1982 soundtrack though — that’s right about when we had to stop believin’.
French electro duo Daft Punk has been on board since the beginning to score the new film, “TRON: Legacy,” and while I dig that choice, I don’t hear the same majesty in their work… yet. Take a listen to the six tracks that Seattle’s 107.7 The End has up (not embeddable, alas). They’re dark, I’ll give them that. Dark is good.
