Blogroll!

I must take a moment to acknowledge the blog panel I participated in for the Royal Flush film festival over the weekend and give props to the veteran bloggers seated in the uncomfortable directors chairs with me. Who sits in those things anymore? I nearly collapsed mine. [L-R, yours truly, Brandon Harris, Heidi Macdonald, Michael K, John Holmstrom. Photo by Lindsay Buckley.] The panel was moderated by John Holmstrom, founder & editor of PUNK Magazine. His blog JohnHolmstrom.com is hand written. Brilliant. I think he should enable comments though. Heidi MacDonald, editor of Publisher Weekly's, The Beat was there representing the comics culture sporting a pair of spectacles that I suspect have x-ray vision (at least in her mind - which is all that matters really). Celebrity blogger Michael K, founder/editor of Dlisted.com was the big star. I'm so insulated from/ignorant of celebrity gossip, but that doesn't lessen my fascination...

The panel was moderated by John Holmstrom, founder & editor of PUNK Magazine. His blog JohnHolmstrom.com is hand written. Brilliant. I think he should enable comments though. Heidi MacDonald, editor of Publisher Weekly’s, The Beat was there representing the comics culture sporting a pair of spectacles that I suspect have x-ray vision (at least in her mind – which is all that matters really). Celebrity blogger Michael K, founder/editor of Dlisted.com was the big star. I’m so insulated from/ignorant of celebrity gossip, but that doesn’t lessen my fascination with his blog which is certainly great for a laugh and maybe a groan. His is a tremendous blog success story, what it says about our culture I’ll leave for you to ponder. Brandon Harris, contributing Editor to Filmmaker Magazine and Hammer to Nail, had to show up and look too good. You should check out his own Cinema Echo Chamber.
I’ve been to many festival panels, but never sat in on one before. I found that it makes me quite unexpectedly nervous. Alternating between the boy who can’t speak and pisses himself on the game show in “Magnolia” and Vince Clortho, I’m sure I left a fantastic impression. It can only get easier. Stay tuned for that!
Note the new blogroll here at the Indie Ear (below the categories) which has these and other fine sites linked (or will be linked as the site updates, these things take time!)
