LANDy

I had a dream about Adam Goldberg and forgot to tell him when I talked to him the other day about his debut record as LANDy. I must have been too frantic. So I'll tell you. (Left: Taken at dinner the night before his IFC interview, the censor is his touch.) The night I confirmed I'd be interviewing him, I dreamed I was in my childhood basement - a 2,000 sq ft wood paneled realm of wonder complete with multi-colored linoleum floor and a long bar with lots of stools and tiny white lights. The night I confirmed I’d be interviewing him, I dreamed I was in my childhood basement – a 2,000 sq ft wood paneled realm of wonder complete with multi-colored linoleum floor and a long bar with lots of stools and tiny white lights. My friends were there, with Adam, all lounging around the low 1950′s coffee table that formed the center of my high school social lounge. Adam sat quietly drawing. I looked and they were all pictures of my bare legs from the knees down to my chucks. Some had little girly animals on them.
“Adam, man, I don’t like those.”
“No, no look,” he said, and handed me one of the drawings.
When I looked closer I saw, aside from the animals and queer frills, that he had drawn the most realistic image of a leg I’d ever seen. The hairs seemed to move under my breath, and it occurred to me that he hadn’t just drawn a picture but with some powers unknown to me, he’d captured a piece of reality and expressed it upon the paper.
See the interview and our premiere of his amazing looking video for “BFF!.”
