With CD's inevitably going the way of the dinosaur, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, Blender Magazine and Crystal Clear Pepsi; CD artwork isn't too far behind. Yes, album covers will always exist--even if they're just reduced to being a piece of clip art on your iPod screen--but what about artwork on the CD itself?...
With CD’s inevitably going the way of the dinosaur, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, Blender Magazine and Crystal Clear Pepsi; CD artwork isn’t too far behind. Yes, album covers will always exist–even if they’re just reduced to being a piece of clip art on your iPod screen–but what about artwork on the CD itself?
When compact discs become obsolete, we’ll no longer have the opportunity to get creative with a four-and-half-inch, circular piece of plastic. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will never have a chance to be pizza toppings again, as they appear on their latest release, It’s Blitz (left).
