Banished for years to the realms of animation, the movie musical finally seems to be making a comeback. This week on the IFC News podcast, we speculate on what led to the demise of the musical, and look into how the burgeoning genre of the indie musical plays up the disconnect between a song and dance number and a harsher reality.
