And while we’re exploring the magic of YouTube — an English-subtitled trailer for "Death Note," the live-action adaptation of the massively popular manga series of the same name that opened in Japan three weeks ago and that’s on its way to becoming, as Mark Schilling puts it in his review in the Japan Times, "the decade’s biggest Japanese horror(ish) hit," is here. Ah, "horror(ish)." If only words met genres as effortlessly as one footballer’s forehead can meet another’s unsuspecting sternum. Interestingly, "Death Note," like "Kill Bill" volumes 1 and 2 and "Pirates of the Caribbean" 2 and 3, is getting a two-part release, apparently without audiences kicking up a fuss; the second part comes out in November.
