It has to be about 6-8 years since I watche d afilm on IFC in which a woman poisons hereself with arsenic. She dies a slow, pasty white death.
It is a period film, and I believe it took place in France or Belgium in the 16oo's to 1800's. All vague impressions of the foreign film.
The actress reminded me of Isabelle Adjani, but I doubt it was her. Just a vibe, perhaps similar to the feel of Queen Margot.
I'll be in your debt if you can help me figure out the name of this film.

Sounds like Chabrol's "Madame Bovary," in which Isabelle Huppert has what feels like a ten minute, arsenic-fueled death scene.
