Selfishly speaking, David, I am so disappointed. You're just too good at what you do, and as Chris said, your presence has been so critical to film culture in this country and in the world during your tenure at GC and here. But you have also been instrumental in opening up a whole world to me through the links made available here and your generosity in including me amongst them. Just make sure you let us all know when and where this new incarnation will manifest itself. The Daily hasn't been gone but an hour or two, and I'm already hungry to get addicted all over again. Oh no... I hope you'll return again in some kind of similar incarnation, David. You're contributions to Greencine & IFC have been immeasurable. You're the only reason I visit this site on a regular basis.

On a side note, I can't thank you enough for the support you've given me and my humble efforts over the last few years. It's meant a lot to me and I'll be forever grateful. Cheers to you and whatever the future holds!

David - been an avid reader since the GC days, and like the others here, I'm sad to see you go. It's a real loss, however temporary. Have a great summer, and I look forward to reading you again when the new format rolls out somewhere.

Although come to think of it, how WILL we know where you end up? I'm pretty sure that everyone here relies on your posts at this site for that sort of information...

Just wanted to chime in with everyone else...it's hard to imagine the cinephiliac blogosphere without the Daily, but there you go. Enjoy your break and good luck with the mysterious new venture. May it involve Nikki Finke-like hugeosity of some sort.
