Film Studies for Free presents "'Oscar Studies' for Free!"

In Time, Mark Harris watches Kate Winslet campaign for her Oscar- which he feels she deserves: "Winslet has become not only the finest actress of her generation but in many ways also the perfect actress for this moment." James Rocchi on "Changeling": "The fact [Angelina] Jolie got an Oscar nomination for this film - while her fearless, immeasurably superior and more complex performance in the grossly overlooked 'A Mighty Heart' was ignored - just shows the staleness of the Academy's thinking, or how easily comforted they are by cliché and convention."
