We know you love Rooftop Films you've come to the shows, screened your films, hung out at our after-parties, been a part of the community--and now you can take a little bit of Rooftop home with you. Rooftop Films is a non-profit corporation, and just as you rely on us to bring the best new independent films in the world right to your neighborhood, we rely on you for your support.

Thanks to you, 2008 was Rooftop Films' most successful year ever. You came out in droves (over 20,000) to our 37 screenings in 12 outdoor venues. You volunteered, hooking us up with local community groups so every screening was integrated with the neighborhood. You submitted your films, so we could show over 150 movies by the world's most talented filmmakers. One dollar of all your admission and submission fees supported the Rooftop Filmmaker's Fund, enabling us to give away over $12,000 in grants to support new projects by Rooftop alums. The proceeds from your attendance also supported student arts programs at one host venue, New Design High School, and empowered us to bring Rooftop filmmakers into another partner venue, Automotive High School, to teach media literacy and video production to the students.

You're already part of the Rooftop Films community, but here's why we need your continued support:

• Because of our commitment to filmmakers, Rooftop's submission fees are kept to a minimum. But fees don't defray the costs of screening and evaluating the thousands of submissions we receive.

• Because of our commitment to our audience, tickets remain affordable. But the income barely matches the cost of putting on the elaborate, integrated shows.

• Because of our commitment to the community, many of our programs--such as our Youth Video Classes and the grants we give to emerging artists through the Rooftop Filmmakers' Fund--cost us thousands of dollars to run.
