But what will become of "Princess"?

Palisades Media, which Variety describes as a "Gotham-based securitization and P&A financing specialist," has picked up most of the UK Tartan Films library, having snagged Tartan USA's library back in May. Palisades' chairman-CEO Vin Roberti has some promising things to say:
Roberti said that he will continue to buy titles for both territories under a new company called Palisades-Tartan Acquisitions. "We believe strongly in the new digital world at Palisades, and will be aggressively ramping up future acquisitions," he said.Goal is for Palisades to own a library of some 2,000 titles by 2010.
"We're not in the blockbuster business," Roberti added, "but we will continue to do theatrical releases when it benefits the titles. The most important thing about this is preserving titles and making sure they get the exposure and exploitation they deserve."
I only hope that someday we can all get the exploitation we deserve.
Elsewhere, two films from the festival circuit have secured distribution -- "Lake City," which premiered at Tribeca and was notable for featuring Dave Matthews in the role of an evil drug dealer with apparently creepy facial hair, has been picked up by Screen Media Films, according to indieWIRE. And Beastie Boy Adam Yauch's new distribution company Oscilloscope Pictures has acquired "Frontrunners," a charming doc about the Stuyvesant student body elections that premiered at SXSW, reports Variety. The film will premiere at Film Forum on October 15.
