"Wanderlust" and the weekend.

"Me? I've had so many names..." We're about to spoon ourselves out of the Cannes and head home for the long weekend. (There's not much left beyond "Pan's Labyrinth," which, incidentally, we're heard great things about from two sources already after an unofficial press screening at the festival the other day.)

Unrelated: this Monday on the ol' network, you can catch the premiere of "Wanderlust," an original documentary on road movies written and directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, the filmmakers responsible for "American Splendor." We haven't actually seen it yet, but hey, who the hell didn't like "American Splendor"?

Back Tuesday.

Alison, please pass the following on to the person that decided to cancel the Cannes awards coverage on IFC: "You suck."

Great article in yesterday's times - kudos for IFC's bold stance.

el spielbergo: You're not the first to complain. I suspect it was a question of cost — it's expensive in general to do a live broadcast, and with the weak dollar it'd be much more so, which is why no other networks were lining up to broadcast the event either.

Annie: It could mean exciting things for doc filmmakers — Evan Shapiro has a bit more about the article here.

Now that this ridiculous "Cannes Cam" ( a name I coined BTW) is gone, can you please do us all a favor and link up the Baycam:

ALL BAY, ALL DAY!!

Alison - great follow up - just added the link to our site. I am so excited by these developments & am putting together a podcast/web video series on copyright law for www.zoom-in.com to spread the word...
