Today, Warner Bros. Records released, Covered, A Revolution In Sound, an album that celebrates the label's Golden Anniversary (that's 50 years).
The premise of the compilation is quite simple: 11 of Warner's current artists cover a song from Warner's golden past, which includes Adam Sandler covering Neil Diamond, The Black Keys doing Captain Beefheart, and my favorite, The Flaming Lips rethinking Madonna's "Borderline," which also includes a trippy music video.
1. "Just Got Paid," ZZ Top (Mastodon)
2. "Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles." Captain Beefheart (The Black Keys)
3. "A Case Of You," Joni Mitchell (Michelle Branch)
4. "Here Comes A Regular," The Replacements (Against Me!)
5. "More Than This," Roxy Music (Missy Higgins)
6. "Into The Mystic," Van Morrison (James Otto)
7. "Like A Hurricane," Neil Young (Adam Sandler)
8. "You Wreck Me," Tom Petty (Taking Back Sunday)
9. "Burning Down The House," Talking Heads (The Used)
10. "Midlife Crisis," Faith No More (Disturbed)
11. "Paranoid," Black Sabbath (Avenged Sevenfold)
12. "Borderline," Madonna (The Flaming Lips)
