Apparently meeting Thor was more of a shock for Tony Stark than we initially realized. In a new clip for “Iron Man 3,” Tony talks with Pepper Potts about how he’s been affected since the battle in “The Avengers.”
“Nothing’s been the same since New York,” he says. “You experience things and then they’re over and you still can’t explain them. Gods, aliens, other dimensions — I’m just a man in a can.”
Tony says he “can’t sleep” after the events in “The Avengers,” and it seems like it’s affecting his relationship with Pepper. But hey, the two of them have moved in together, so things can’t be so bad, right?
It’s nice to see that Marvel is making sure that audiences feel the after effects of “The Avengers” in “Iron Man 3.” It will be interesting to see if they stop being addressed in this movie, but based on the trailer for “Thor: The Dark World,” that doesn’t seem likely. We’d argue it’s a good thing “Iron Man 3” still relates to the other superheroes out there even though it is once again Tony Stark’s story.
“Iron Man 3” is based on Warren Ellis’ “Iron Man” comic book series “Extremis.” The flick is directed by Shane Black and also stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi and Ben Kingsley. It’s due in theaters on May 3.
