Zack Snyder is a busy little bee. Not only is he promoting the upcoming “Man of Steel,” but he is also selling audiences on the sequel to “300.” Though he didn’t direct “300: Rise of an Empire,” Snyder did produce it and help develop the story, so understandably he’s a big supporter of the project.
That’s why it’s no surprise that Snyder was the man to roll out the first poster for the upcoming film. “Here’s the first poster for #300movie: Rise of an Empire! Seize your Glory!” he tweeted. The poster is reminiscent of the original poster for “300,” albeit with a different color scheme.
This is the latest in a slew of first-look photos at “300: Rise of an Empire.” Audiences have been introduced to Themistokles and Artemisia, and now they’re introduced to the movie as a whole. It remains to be seen when the first trailer for “300: Rise of an Empire” will be released.
Rodrigo Santoro will reprise his role as Xerxes in “Rise of an Empire,” while Eva Green will play Artemisia, Stapleton will play Themistokles and Jamie Blackley will play Calisto. Though Gerard Butler won’t be back as King Leonidas in this flick, Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad wrote the script so it will tie in to “300.” This new movie acts as a prequel of sorts to “300.” While part of the flick takes place before the previous film, other parts run concurrently to it.
