The full-length teaser for “The Wolverine” won’t arrive until Wednesday, but James Mangold has unveiled a tease of what fans can expect on Vine. Tucked away among the snippets of big fight scenes comes the reveal that Famke Janssen will be in the new movie.
Make of that news what you will, but keep in mind that Janssen’s Jean Grey died in “X-Men: The Last Stand,” which takes place chronologically before this movie. Maybe Logan just has a vision of her in “The Wolverine,” or maybe she comes back to life in the new film. We won’t put anything past the X-Men universe.
In addition to this, Coming Soon and “The Wolverine’s” UK Twitter account have rolled out new posters for the movie. Entertainment Weekly has also unveiled eight new images from the film, one of which can be seen above.
Directed by James Mangold, “The Wolverine” stars Jackman, Will Yun Lee and Tao Okamoto. It’s due in theaters on July 26, 2013. The full length teaser for the movie will appear online on March 27 and in theaters on March 29. Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
