Marc Maron is making the rounds of SXSW 2013 because as you may have heard, his new scripted comedy series, “Maron,” premieres on May 3 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on IFC. The show is based on Maron’s life and career, including his popular WTF podcast. “Maron” will depict “his day-to-day struggle to maintain relationships other than the ones with his podcast audience and his beloved trio of cats.” Specifically, the comedian and podcasting legend will be seen “dating a dominatrix, sponsoring a recently sober ex-con, [and] tracking down an internet troll who blasts him on Twitter.” Obviously you’re going to tune in for the 10-episode series, which will be chock full of celebrity guests such as Adam Scott, Ken Jeong, Mark Duplass, Gina Gershon, Eric Stolz, Denis Leary, Dave Foley, Illeana Douglas, Aubrey Plaza, Jeff Garlin, Danny Trejo, and Bobcat Goldthwait.
During SXSW Marc Maron stopped by the What’s Trending studio for a chat with Shira Lazar to talk about cold sores, interview strategies, asking Ken Jeong for medical advice and what he initially wanted to name his show (for some reason “Not Louis” didn’t stick). Watch now:
