It’s not a new trailer, but it will have to do. A new featurette from “Star Trek Into Darkness” has been released that shows off new footage and flaunts how awesome it will look in IMAX and 3D.
“The goal for this movie was definitely to up the ante as much as we could. There were a lot of characters people were anticipating seeing. Kirk and Spock, Bones and Scotty, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu,” director J.J. Abrams said. “I am more excited than I can tell you. The action in this movie, the scale of this movie, is lightyears beyond what we did in the first movie.”
Of course, there’s also the obligatory line from Zoe Saldana about 3D, who says, “This is the kind of film 3D is made for.
“Star Trek Into Darkness” is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho and Bruce Greenwood. Newcomers Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch have been added in undisclosed roles. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 17 in IMAX and 3D.
