If you thought that “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” already had a star-studded cast, then you haven’t seen nothing yet. Robert Rodriguez has cast two new actresses to the film, and finally has someone to portray its titular dame.
Dimension Films announced that Eva Green has joined the movie as Ava Lord, the dame to kill for from the “Sin City” sequel/prequel’s title. She’s described as “every man’s most glorious dreams come true, she’s also every man’s darkest nightmares,” which pretty much sums up the former Bond girl. At one point Rodriguez had wanted Angelina Jolie for the role, but he seems perfectly happy with the woman he ended up with.
“We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City,” Rodriguez and Frank Miller said in a statement. “From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us.”
Also joining the cast (via Coming Soon) is Julia Garner, who plays a stripper named Marcy in the new “Sin City” story “The Long Bad Night.” She’ll reportedly be playing largely off of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character Johnny.
We weren’t kidding when we said this movie has a star-studded cast. Thus far it features Mickey Rourke as Marv, Jessica Alba as Nancy, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Jaime King as Wendy/Goldie, Rosario Dawson as Gail, Josh Brolin as Dwight, JGL as Johnny, Christopher Meloni as Mort, Jeremy Piven as Bob, Ray Liotta as Joey, Dennis Hasbert as Manute, Juno Temple as Sally and Jamie Chung as Migo.
“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is due out on October 4.
