Has the villain in “Justice League” been revealed? According to a new report, yes.
Latino Review has scooped that the baddie in the upcoming “Justice League” film will be Darkseid. He is arguably the most powerful villain in the DC Universe, so it would make sense that Warner Bros. would want to start their greater DC cinematic universe off with a bang. In many ways, Darkseid is the Thanos in the DC realm.
Warner Bros. has not confirmed this news, but Latino Review tends to be right with its major scoops (or at least be in the general direction of the truth). Since “Justice League” is still a couple of years away, there is a chance for WB to change its mind about using Darkseid, since it might make more sense to save such a big bad for several movies in. After all, we still don’t know if the plan is to relaunch Warner Bros.’s DC universe with “Justice League” or to incorporate characters from Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy and Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel.” Rumors say the latter, but still, it’s not confirmed until it’s confirmed.
“Justice League” is due out in the summer of 2015. Thus far, no director has been chosen to helm the project, though many names have been rumored for the role. “Gangster Squad” scribe Will Beall is currently writing the script.
