It’s time to return to Middle-Earth. With less than a month left until “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” hits theaters, it’s been announced that tickets will go on sale for the upcoming film at noon this Wednesday.
But Warner Bros. has more in store for us than just a plain old viewing of the movie. There also are marathons of the extended editions of “The Lord of the Rings” that will take place the weekend prior to “An Unexpected Journey” hitting theaters, and tickets for those will go on sale Wednesday as well.
The marathons will take place on December 8 and 9, and we’re guessing they’ll probably sell out pretty quickly. As you probably already know, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is due out December 14. If you’re planning on attending a midnight showing of this much-anticipated film, we’ve learned that the sooner you buy tickets the better.
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” tells the first part of Bilbo Baggins’ epic adventure from Hobbiton to the Lonely Mountain. Along the way, he’ll befriend dwarves, face off against goblins, meet a dragon and discover the One Ring that will change his life forever.
“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” is due in theaters on December 13, 2013, while “The Hobbit: There and Back Again” comes out July 18, 2014.
