“Sin City 2” lands Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Michael Madsen

Mickey Rourke in "Sin City"

Not only is “Sin City 2” actually happening, but at least some of the original cast is returning as well.

Director Robert Rodriguez shared in a recent interview that he expects many of “Sin City’s” actors to return for the sequel, and it turns out three of them already have. Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Michael Madsen have all expressed interest in reprising their roles in “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.”

“We haven’t done any casting yet, except for the people who we know are already in it and returning. ‘A Dame to Kill For,’ all those people come back. I just had lunch with Mickey this weekend. He’s all excited to come back, but he’s probably the first one,” Rodriguez told MTV News. “I saw Rosario too. I ran into her for something else, and she’s pumped. They’ve always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun.”

Madsen confirmed his return in an interview with, and also teased that we could have some more information about the movie in the coming months.

“I’m doing the sequel to ‘Sin City.’ That would be ‘Sin City 2,'” he said. “I’m going to Ft. Worth, Texas, and there is supposed to be some sort of a symposium or some ‘Sin City’ panel where we’re going to talk about the film. I’m looking forward to that, too.”

That still leaves Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Devon Aoki, Jaime King and Michael Clarke Duncan to express interest in the sequel. All of their characters return in “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For,” so hopefully they’ll be able to fit the long-anticipated film into their busy schedules. If they can’t, though, it will be interesting to see if Rodriguez recasts the roles or just leaves those storylines out of the movie all together. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, but we’d opt for the latter in a worst-case scenario.

When MTV News caught up with Owen earlier in the year, he expressed interest in starring in “A Dame To Kill For.”

“Listen, I had a fantastic time with [Rodriguez] on that movie,” he said. “I thought the movie was seriously groundbreaking. I’m a big fan of it as a movie. So yeah, of course I would be interested in doing it — but I really don’t know what the state of it is.”

Your Portlandia Personality Test

The New Portlandia Webseries Is Going Your Way

Posted by on

Carrie and Fred understand that although we have so much in common, we’re each so beautifully unique and different. To help us navigate those differences, Portlandia has found an easy and honest way to embrace our special selves in the form of a progressive new traffic system: a specific lane for every kind of driver. It’s all in honor of the show’s 8th and final season, and it’s all presented by Subaru.

Ready to find out who you really are? Match your personality to a lane and hop on the expressway to self-understanding.

Lane 10: Trucks Piled With Junk

Your junk is falling out of your trunk. Shake a tail light, people — this lane is for you.

Lane 33: Twins

You’re like a Gemini, but waaaay more pedestrian. Maybe you and a friend just wear the same outfits a lot. Who cares, it’s just twinning enough to make you feel special.

Lane 27: Broken Windows

Bad luck follows you around and everyone knows it. Your proverbial seat is always damp from proverbial rain. Is this the universe telling you to swallow your pride? Yes.

Lane 69: Filthy Cars

You’re all about convenience. Getting your car washed while you drive is a no-brainer.

Lane 43: Newly Divorced Singles

It’s been a while since you’ve driven alone, and you don’t know the rules of the road anymore. What’s too fast? What’s too slow? Are you sending the right signals? Don’t worry, the breakdown lane is nearby if you need it.

Still can’t find a lane to match your personality? Check out all the videos here. And see the final season of Portlandia this spring on IFC.
