Back in 2005, Quentin Tarantino was the executive producer of a little movie called Daltry Calhoun. See below for show times. It was directed by a first time director Katrina Holden Bronson, it made film history as the last Miramax production to premiere while Bob and Harvey Weinstein were technically still in charge. It had a very small theatrical release, so we are glad to be able to share this quirky Southern charmer.
Daltry Calhoun is the story of a golf sod king of a small town in Tennessee who has hit the rough (sorry, my golf jokes don’t get teed up too often) financially, but can’t let the adoring town know about his troubles. He is frantically liquidating assets when his ex-girlfriend (30 Rock‘s Elizabeth Banks) shows up with the daughter he didn’t know he had (Sophie Traub). Daltry is played bynone other than Jackass-in-Chief Johnny Knoxville, fresh from his role as Luke Duke in Dukes of Hazzard. Since we so rarely have the opportunity to show clips form Jackass here, and since Jackass 3-D is still topping the box office charts, we are lunging at the chance to show our love for the idiotic pranks and disgustingly juvenile antics of Jackass. Don’t try this at home kids.
Daltry Calhoun airs on IFC Monday, Nov. 8 at 9:30 AM ET, Friday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 AM and 11:30 AM ET, Monday, Nov. 22 at 2:00 PM ET and Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 3:05 AM ET
