“The Grid” is IFC’s new series about what’s next in movies, gadgets, viral videos, games, and more. Each Thursday, IFC News dives into our archives to bring you more on this week’s cool stuff. Here’s what going on this week in “The Grid”:
–Ryan Downey gave you a sneak peak at Daft Punk’s soundtrack for the upcoming film “Tron: Legacy.” IFC News’ Brandon Kim‘s got a bunch of extra Daft Punk/”Tron” coverage: a first look at their cameo in the film (plus info on how to attend the “Tron: Legacy” free preview night in a couple weeks) as well as some early snippets from the Punk’s soundtrack. Let’s hear that one more time, shall we?
–Jesse Thorn told you about “Paranormal Activity 2” or, as the poster calls it for some reason, “Paranormal 2 Activity.” Is it a boy band or a horror movie? Anyway, Rob Nelson reviewed the original “Paranormal Activity” for us last October. And in February, Vadim Rizov wrote about the low-fi horror flick’s reception abroad and its connection to Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. That connection? A mutual appreciation of night vision video (okay, maybe not).
–Kat Lyn tried out the new Mexican wrestling video game “Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes Del Ring”. IFC News doesn’t have any additional coverage of this awesome looking video game, so instead please enjoy the trailer for the classic film, “Santo Versus La Invasión de los Marcianos”, in which a badass Mexican wrestler dropkicks — literally dropkicks — an alien invasion from the red planet. I promise you: it’s even more incredible than it sounds.
“The Grid” airs every Thursday at 7:45 PM eastern. For more from “The Grid” go to IFC.com/The-Grid.
